RICHMOND MCIVER

My passion for basketball is rooted from many years of playing this game. As a youth I played basketball but never really understood or become a student of the game until later in my career. As a player, my height and athleticism allowed many opportunities but the lack of understanding of the game stifled my growth. So in my case, athleticism took me so far but the lack of fundamentals only caused frustration and underachievement.

Like many kids I had a dream of becoming a great basketball player.  While in high school I was honored to be named the TABC 4A player of the year in the state of Texas and my hard work earned me a full scholarship to play for the University of Michigan. After spending 2 years there I decided to transfer to the University of Texas. When my collegiate years were over I spent 6 years playing overseas in Asia, Europe and South America.

While overseas I begin to understand the importance of fundamentals and how it could impact the overall outcome of your game. Those years overseas were very instrumental in how I train today.

Throughout the last 15 years I have had the opportunity to train many young men and women helping them achieve their goals. Some of those players only goal was to make their middle/high school teams others were to continue their career at the collegiate and professional levels.

Through personal failure and success, the countless hours of preparing for competition has taught me the importance of fundamentals, mental focus, regular routine, fitness and proper nutrition. For over 15 years I have devoted myself to personal and sports specific training as well as the health and wellness of my clients. With an emphasis on discipline, dedication, hard work, attention to detail and mental preparation I have been blessed to motivated many to reach their goals.
